In order to pay the correct respect to each member of the ATC cadets must be able to recognise each rank and
classification badge.

Badges are worn on your brassard (excepting Staff Cadet) and Rank Slides are worn on your epaulettes. To gain
classifications, cadets must go through a series of tests, '1st class' being the easiest and 'staff' being the
hardest. Before you become a '1st Class' Cadet, cadets are a 2nd Class Cadet, this has no badge.

Gaining a rank is based on Merit and Leadership Potential. There are no exams as the promotion is decided
by the Commanding officer, however to become a Cadet Warrant Officer you must be a Flight Sergeant,
preferably hold the Staff Cadet Classification and must attend an interview at wing level. Below are many of the
